Lee Ranaldo + The Men @ Scala, London – 6th June 2012

The Men opened the show with an energetic set featuring songs from their album “Open Your Heart”. Man, those songs need to be heard live! Highlights: Turn It Around, Open Your Heart

Lee Ranaldo played all the songs from his album ” Between the times and the tides”, played 2 covers – Neil Young’s “Walk On” and Talking Head’s “Thank You For Sending Me An Angel”. Played the best ‘Lee song’ ever “Karen Revisited”. Steve Shelley provided musical pulse. Lee played real good feedback and super-sounding riffs, With his mild mannered look on, yeah he was truly hip…

“Valentine’s Day” Gig

We’re announcing a new gig at the Monto Water Rats, supporting the Deadbeat Darlings on 14th February 2012. As you probably know, we’re not the lovey-dovey type (screw the commercialism of Valentine’s Day), but there’ll be head-banging, some hoochie-choochie, so c’mon down!

We’re on at 8pm, but sign on to our early list and get there by 730pm for cheap tickets! Drop us an email at thelightnessofbeing@gmail.com or sign to our facebook event @ https://www.facebook.com/events/106840796108758/

It’s 2012!

The Lightness Of Being would like to wish everyone a very happy 2012! Thanks to everyone who have come out to our gigs, checked out our music in the past year, for making it a great 2011. We look forward to bringing you more kicking, guitar-driven rock, in the world dominated by electro-pop and ‘talented’ pop stars who co-wrote 1 word and 2 notes, in 2012!

Our next gig is at the Hoxton Underbelly on 6th Jan 2012, 7pm with Runfever, Electric Fusiliers and Tabloid Vivant (£6 advance, £8 at the door) so get in touch with us if you’d like to get on the advance list.

In the meantime, here’s some of our favourite songs from 2011 on Spotify
